The [[Merry Makers]] were a female African [[Music hall|vaudeville]] group the 1930s whose repertoire consisted of a mixture of jazz, ragtime, comic sketches, [[Jubilee|jubilee]] and church (amakwaya) music. It was one of many which had developed out of the [[Minstrels|minstrelsy]] tradition of the 1920s.
