(19**-) Costume Designer. Also known as [[Lindy Grindlay]]. A graduate of Tshwane University of Technology, Lindy Ann Joubert (Grindlay) quickly became recognized as one of South Africa’s leading theatrical designers. She designed over 50 repertoire productions for South Africa’s foremost Opera, Ballet and Musical companies, for Greek National Opera and Richard Loring Productions. Lindy moved to the United States with her husband Tom Grindlay in 2002. She has become an award winning event décor designer in the Washington DC area. In addition, she has maintained ties with South African Theatre, designing for Black Ties Opera Company, coordinating costumes for Hairspray, and as associate designer for Saturday Night Fever. Being a part of the African Footprint journey has been one of the most rewarding aspects of Lindy’s career.
