Lindea Bosman took up modelling to overcome her shyness, but before even completing her course she was chosen by Victor Stiebel to model some of his designs. She was also a qualified beautician and it was through this that she became involved in the film world. When [[Jamie Uys]] and [[Elmo de Witt]] were casting the film ''[[Satanskoraal]]'', she was responsible for making up the many young women who were auditioning for the part of Miss Malan, [[Ponie de Wet]]’s secretary. When none of them proved suitable, she got it. Before that her only acting experience was in school plays and she had no interest in following it up as a career. Interestingly, in the ''[[Rand Daily Mail]]'' of 14 December 1957 there is a photograph of her making up [[Gideon Roos]], Director-General of the [[SABC]], for his part as Piet Retief in a production by the [[National Theatre Organisation]] of [[C.J. Langenhoven]]’s ''[[Die Pad van Suid-Afrika]]'' at that year’s [[Day of the Covenant]] celebrations. Also in the picture is [[Jan Bruyns]], who played the part of Dingaan in the all-white spectacle.

(Note: It is possible that Bosman was her married name. In 1957 a Lindea and Eugene Bosman were divorced. He was a pharmacist and she may initially have worked in her husband’s business. During the late fifties and early sixties, Gene Bosman was one of South Africa’s most accomplished rally drivers.)
