[[Lieutenant Pasley]] R.A. (18**-18**) was an officer in the 73rd Regiment at the Cape and amateur actor in the 1850s. Popular because of his "inimitable acting and self-possession" ([[F.C.L. Bosman]], 1928[http://www.dbnl.org/tekst/bosm012dram01_01/]:p.404), he had major roles in most of the pieces put on by the [[Officers of the Garrison]] (or [[Captain Hall's Company]]) in 1852-3. These include ''[[The Illustrious Stranger, or Married and Buried]]'', ''[[Bombastes Furioso]]'' and ''[[Did you ever send your wife to Camberwell?]]'' in 1853.
