[[John Connell]] presented seasons of up to eight operas in the 1940’s. [[Alfred Herbert]] presented the first of his African Jazz/Township Jazz concerts in 1956 at the City Hall. [[David Bloomberg]] and [[Percy Tucker]] brought [[Murray Banks]] to South Africa in 1960. Banks performed here, Benoni, the Transvaal , Rhodesia and the Cape Province. [[Mickey Katz]] performed here in 1961. ****
