He was a well-known amateur actor and was married to Matilda Tee on July 5, 1860. He was the Mayor of Port Elizabeth from 1884-1890 and in 1894. <br /> <br /> == Training ==<br /> <br /> Nothing is known about his training.<br /> <br /> == Career ==<br /> <br /> In his professional life he was a furniture importer and manufacturer.
