Leader of a French amateur society from 1806 and of [[Tot Nut en Vermaak]] from 1809 till 1826, in which year he started up yet another society, [[Door Yver Vruchtbaar]]. Between 1825 and 1826 his son, [[J.G. Tredoux jnr]]. also became the first director of the new children’s society ([[Tot Oefening en Smaak]]) which his father had probably collaborated with [[J. Suasso De Lima]] in founding.
