With dialogue largely in English and [[isiXhosa]], it centred around the lives of the wealthy Haines family, the Matabanes, and the lives of the inhabitants of the mining town Horizon Deep.

The show premiered on SABC 3 in July 1998 and was broadcast evenings on [[SABC]] 3 from Monday to Friday at 19:00. On 29 November 2019 the [[SABC]] announced that the production had been cancelled and the final broadcast was aired on 12 March 2020.
