''The High Cost of Loving'' (1914) is a farce in three acts by Frank Mandel (1884-1958), the author of ''No, No, Nanette''.  In South Africa it was first staged at [[His Majesty's Theatre]] in May 1920 by the [[New Comedy Company]]. The cast consisted of [[Cecil Kellaway]] (Ludwig Klinke), [[Lew James]] (Albert Bean), [[Grafton Williams]] (Edward Hauser), [[Edward Vincent]] (Anthony Tiedemeyer), [[Edith Cartwright]]/[[Naomi Rutherford]] (Emma Klinke), [[Naomi Rutherford]]/[[Reina Selma]] (Cora Klinke), [[Forbes Dawson]] (Lawrence Tucker), [[William Mollison]] (Professor Noel Burman), [[Florence Creagh]] (Matilda Burman) and [[Phyllis Sinclair]] (Rose Hauser).  Adapted from an unspecified German play, it was produced by [[William Mollison]]. &lt;br /&gt;
