The first production was the Biblical drama ''[[Koningin Esther]]'', written by Van Wyk himself. The cast consisted of among others [[Lena Cronjé]], [[Aletta Gericke]] and [[Kosie Gericke]]* Its tour was initially dogged by accident, the lead actress almost drowning at Herold's Bay, and later a motor accident befalling them. *
