George Mountjoy was chair and president of the [[Arts Theatre Club]] in East London for many years.

As an actor, he appeared in many productions, including: ''[[Jack and the Beanstalk]]'' (1980), ''[[White Horse Inn]]'' (1984), ''[[Listen to the Wind]]'' (1985), ''[[The Wizard of Oz]]'' (1986), ''[[Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood]]'' (1988)

As a director, productions include: ''[[Grease]]'' (1987), ''[[Max's Egg]]'' (1990), ''[[Peter Pan]]'' (1993)

He was also musical director for ''[[Winnie-the-Pooh]]'' (1984)
