After his return from the Royal Ballet he worked with both [[PACT]] and [[CAPAB]] ballet companies and eventually ran the Gary Burne Dance Theatre.

==Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance==
He was the choreographer for a [[PACT]] production of ''[[Ring Round the Moon]]'' in 1964. He produced and choreographed ''[[The Family]]'' at the [[Space Theatre]], 1975.
