In 1934, on the death of Jean Plaat-Stultjes, continued touring with some of the plays. She joined the renewed Hanekom Company on their tour of small Free State towns with Oom Paul in 1935, playing "Esther". However, she married her co-actor* Willie Beckmann (who had played "Danie" in Oom Paul) in the same year and they formed the Elsa Fouché Toneelgeselskap to tour with In die Mag van Tiberius ("Under the sway of Tiberius") an adaptation by Beckmann of a novel by Augusta J.
