== Original text ==

The novel, published in 1988 by [[Van der Walt Uitgewers]] (later known as [[LAPA]] publishers), was adapted for the stage as a one or two hander independently by two authors in the 1990s.

Adapted as ''[[Die Jaar Toe My Ma begin Sing Het]]'' by [[Wim Vorster]]

Adapted as ''[[Moervrug]]'' by [[Elma Potgieter]]

The plays are both unpublished, but a copy of the Potgieter version is held by [[DALRO]] and credited to [[Engemi Ferreira]] and [[Elma Potgieter]].

== South African performances ==

1995: Performed at the first [[Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees]] ([[KKNK]]) in 1995 in [[Wim Vorster]]'s version (as ''[[Die Jaar Toe My Ma begin Sing Het]]'') as a one man piece, directed by [[Gert van Niekerk]] with [[Hannes van Wyk]].

1998: Performed by [[Die Bywoners]] as ''[[Moervrug]]'' at the [[Aardklop]] festival on 24 and 25 September, starring [[Elma Potgieter]], and directed by [[Schalk Jacobsz]].

1999: Performed by [[Die Bywoners]] as ''[[Moervrug]]'' at the [[Witbank Civic Theatre|Witbank Stadsteater]] festival of solo-plays on 15 Oktober , starring [[Elma Potgieter]], and directed by [[Schalk Jacobsz]].

1999: Performed as ''[[Moervrug]]'' at the [[KKNK]] festival
