 He originally studied  Engineering and after a career that lasted 26 years in both Operations and Project Management, he  decided to follow his passion and began making films.
 To this end he did a number of courses, including joining a group of filmmakers, journalists, writers, teachers and others from around the world to attend the first presentation of MUSE, a storytelling course offered  in collaboration with Stillmotion  in Portland, Oregon. He then went on to complete a 25 week cinematography mentorship program with Shane Hurlbut, and in April 2016, obtained his "Producer's Foundation Certificate" at the Raindance Film School in Los Angeles (under the tutorship of Julia Verdin).
 His first film was the documentary ''[[My Life on the Tracks - the Rohan Vos Story]]'' (about Rohan Vos and  Rovos Rail, the luxury train he created) made in 2015. This was shown across the world, palming in the best documentary award at the  Hollywood International Independent Documentary Awards (HIIDA) in Los Angeles (2016) and subsequently premiering at the Charlie Chaplin Theatre in Los Angeles on the 10th September 2016. The film was also selected the "Best of the Show" at the World Premiere Film Awards 2017 in Ottawa, Canada.
