David Classen studied Audio Engineering at [[Cape Audio College]].

==Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance==

He has worked locally and internationally as a Sound Systems Technician for the last 8 years. His credits include [[Fugard Theatre]] productions such as ''[[West Side Story]]'', ''[[Funny Girl]]'' and ''[[King Kong - the Musical]]'', as well as various arts festivals such as [[Woordfees]] and the [[Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees]], and music festival [[Rocking the Daisies]].

David was the Associate Sound Designer on [[The Fugard Theatre]]’s ''[[The Rocky Horror Show]]'', which won a [[Naledi Theatre Award]] for Best Sound Design. He also co-designed the sound for [[The Fugard Theatre]]’s production of [[David Kramer]]’s ''[[District Six – Kanala]]'', alongside [[Aki Khan]]. David designed the sound for [[The Fugard Theatre]]’s ''[[Shakespeare in Love]]'' and ''[[Langarm]]'' (2018).
