Was a member of the [[GUK Toneelvereniging]] and not only acted for them, but also wrote a farce for their 1929 tour (''[[Die Swart Kat]]''). ** Later wrote the celebrated historical play, ''[[Oom Paul]]'' (1934) about President Paul Kruger, first performed in that year by [[Hendrik Hanekom]] with members of his [[Toneelskool]] and later taken on tour throughout the country for many years.
