She was a member of the company of players recruited in England and brought to South Africa by [[Henry Harper]] in 1884. In Harper's opening production in the newly built [[Theatre Royal]] in Cape Town, she played "Clara Glanvil" in ''[[Faces in the Fire]]'' () and "Mrs Gregory" in ''[[The Two Gregories]]'' (Dibdin). She presumably took other roles in the rest of the season.
