 In 2010 word hy twee keer genomineer vir ’n [[Mercury Durban Theatre toekenning]] – as Don Quixote in ''[[Man of La Mancha]]'' en as Freddy Einsford-Hill in ''[[My Fair Lady]]'' – wat hy wen vir sy vertolking van Freddy.  Cobus maak ook sy merk op die dramaverhoog in produksies soos ''[[Siener In Die Suburbs]]'' (KKNK 2002), ''[[Swaelduif]]'' (KKNK 2003) en ''[[Full Circle]]'' in 2006.  As iemand wat daarvan hou om mense te laat lag wys hy ook sy slag in klugte: ''[[Knypie Op Die Kant]]'' en ''[[Knypie 2: ’n Dubbeldosis]]''.  Sy hoogtepunte as klassieke tenoor sluit in: die Afrikaanse Oratorium, Die Skepping en die rol van posmeester Smit in die nuwe Afrikaanse opera, ''[[Poskantoor]]'', wat onlangs as beste produksie by [[Aardklop]] 2014 bekroon is.  Hy het die rol van Tom Koekemoer vertolk in verlede jaar se ''[[My Boetie se Boetie se Boetie se Baba]]'' en is vanjaar te sien in die hoofrol in ''[[Daa’ Gaat die Bruid!]]'' onder regie van [[Frans Swart]].
