The [[Cape Town Highlanders]] was a military regiment raised in Cape Town by descendants of Scottish immigrants to South Africa in 1885. Over the years the regiment saw active duty during the Bechuanaland Campaign (1896), the [[Anglo-Boer War]], including the relief of Kimberley. In 1906 the Duke of Connaught and Strathearn became colonel-in-chief of the regiment and the regiment's name was thus changed to the [[Duke of Connaught and Strathearn's Own Cape Town Highlanders]].
