The '''Cameron Arts Theatre Company''' was formed in 1987 as a bridge between the highly polarised performing arts in South Africa. It seeks the bridge the gap between protest and non-protest theatre, the gap between international and local theatre and the gap between Black an White theatre.

Cameron Arts hopes to achieve the above by presenting a varied cross section of each type of theatre each year, by itself and in collaboration with other organisations and managements, nationally, and at competitive prices.
