He played various roles in the [[PACT]] school programmes. In 1988 he played in ''[[We All Fall Down]]''.

While at university he won the 1985 A.A. Mutual Vita Award for the Most Promising Actor for his portrayal of Kosie in [[Deon Opperman]]'s production of ''[[Môre is 'n Lang Dag]]''.
