''[[Brief van die Harlekyn]]'' ("Letter from the harlequin or clown") is a one-man play by [[Thijs Nel]], based on two articles by [[C.J. Langenhoven]].

== The original text ==

The two essays -"'n Fragment" and "Brief van die Harlekyn" - were published in Langenhoven's weekly column "Aan Stille Waters" ("By still waters") in ''[[Die Burger]]''. In Nel's text the two articles are set in a circus milieu and linked by means of a poem "Lied van die Harlekyn" ("Song of the harlequin"), also by Langenhoven, set to music by Nel and [[Pauline Matthee]].

2007: First performed at the KKNK in Oudtshoorn, where Langenhoven had lived most of his life. Directed by [[Louis van Niekerk]], with [[Paul Eilers]]. The company and stage manager was [[Vicky Stemmet]].
