The [[African Theatre Association]] is an international society founded in 2006, ad is open to scholars and practitioners of African performance and theatre. Its primary aim, through its annual conferences, is to be a forum for the exploration of African performance and theatre processes.

[[AfTA]] publisheds the [[African Performance Review]], a peer-reviewed triennial journal dedicated to publishing, disseminating and encouraging high quality research and information on theatres and performance in Africa and the African Diaspora.
