That -is the metaphor for the kind of a society we live in. "This is the story of wealth accumulation at the expense of the broader population. It is also about greed and rampant materialism that characterises South Africa after the end of apartheid.

''A Season of Locusts is the story of man who is trying to reconnect with his past by trying to do the things that his late grandmother used to and to live by the principles and values that she taught him."
