In 1955, [[20th Century Fox]] came on board as a major stockholder in the [[Schlesinger Organization]].

In 1959, [[African Film Productions]] was bought out by [[20th Century Fox]] and renamed [[South African Screen Productions]].

1969, the studio sold the business to South African financial services group [[Sanlam]], which already owned [[Ster Films]] and [[Ster Theatres]]. [[Ster Films]] and [[Ster Theatres]] were subsequently merged as [[Ster-Kinekor]] in 1970.
