It is a one woman play about the authoress [[Olive Schreiner]]. The text was published by [[David Philip]], 1983 and 1987.

== Performance history in South Africa ==

1983: First performed at the [[Grahamstown Festival]] in July, by the [[Market Theatre Company]], with [[Lucille Gillwald]] directing [[Elize Cawood]] as Olive Schreiner. It then moved to the [[Baxter Theatre|Baxter Studio]], followed by runs at the [[Laager]] ([[Market Theatre]]), Johannesburg in August and the [[Oude Libertas Theatre]] in Stellenbosch in December. Costume designed by [[Esbe Grabie]], lighting designed by [[Patrick Miller]].

1989: A production of the play was directed by [[Liz Mills]], staged at the [[Great Hall]].
