First produced at the Queen's Theatre, London, as ''[[The King of Prussia]]'' on 24 July, 1837. Published in the same year as ''[[Frederick of Prussia, or The Monarch and the Mimic]]'' by Duncombe (no XXVII) in London. Later also editions by Dicks (No 423) and T.H. Lacy/S.French (French's acting edition No 478).

1859: Performed by the [[Cape Town Dramatic Club]] and other amateurs,  as part of the '''[[Great Volunteers' Parade]]''' in Durbanville, Cape Town, on 6 October, with ''[[Whitebait at Greenwich]]''  (Morton).
