''[[El Grande de Coca Cola]]''. This extravaganza, written by Ron House, Diz White, Alan Shearman and John Neville-Andrews and first produced in 1971. ''El Grande de Coca Cola'' is a comedy that deals with a wannabe theatre impresario who decides to stage a cabaret with his inexperienced family as cast after receiving sponsorship from a soft drink company - with hilarious consequences. In 1973, the Mexican cabaret-parody ''El Grande de Coca Cola'' made its premiere off-Broadway.

== Performance history in South Africa ==
1979: [[PACT]] staged a revival of ''El Grande de Coca Cola'' with direction by [[Michael Richard]] and starring [[Elizabeth Rae]], [[Wilson Dunster]], [[Gillian Harris]], [[Etienne Puren]] and [[Alan Goldstein]] in the [[Arena Theatre]], Rosebank in 1979.

1980: Presented by [[CAPAB]] in a double bill with ''[[Black Comedy|Donkerwerk is Konkelwerk]]'' opening 27 February 1980, starring [[Neville Thomas]], [[David van der Merwe]], [[Paul Slabolepszy]], [[Johan Malherbe]], [[Brümilda van Rensburg]], [[Grethe Fox]], [[Christo Potgieter]], [[Marga van Rooy]] and [[Neels Coetzee]]. Directed by [[Robert Mohr]], decor and costumes by [[Bruno Santini]], lighting by [[Leon Benzakein]]. The play opened at the [[Nico Malan Theatre]] and moved to the [[H.B. Thom Theatre]] before it was taken on tour.

1999: Staged at the [[Grahamstown Festival]] 1999, directed by [[Tobie Cronje]], with [[Frantz Dobrowsky]], [[Denise Stock]], [[Amanda Lane]], [[Byron Mondahl]] and [[Tobie Cronje]].
