The [[Durban Orchestra]] was also referred to as the [[Durban City Orchestra]] or the [[Durban Municipal Orchestra]]. It became known as the [[Durban Civic Orchestra]] in April 1948, after [[Edward Dunn]] had recruited 24 players to form a band of 45 players.
