[[Die Skaapwagters van Bethlehem]] ("The shepherds of Bethlehem") is a one-act play by [[Uys Krige]] (1910–1987).

==The original text==

Written ''circa'' 1937 and based on the Medieval tradition of the Nativity Play, the piece  sets the tale of the shepherds in a partially South African context.

The text first published in the collection ''[[Die Wit Muur en Ander Eenbedrywe]]'' (1940) and later also in ''[[Vier Eenbedrywe]]'' (1968).
