[[Biltong]] is a South African  variety of cured meat. Various types of meat are used to produce it (usually beef, venison or ostrich).  Originating as a way to preserve meat for travel, this has become a major South African delicacy, to be enjoyed alongside  [[Droëwors]] ("dry sausage").
