''Eurydice'' is a play by French writer Jean Anouilh, written in 1941. The story is set in the 1930s, among a troupe of travelling performers. It combines skepticism about romance in general and the intensity of the relationship between Orpheus and Eurydice with an other-worldly mysticism. The result is a heavily ironic modern retelling of the classical Orpheus myth.

''Point of Departure'' is the English title for the play Eurydice by Jean Anouilh, adapted by Kitty Black. Anouilh wrote it in 1941 when Paris was occupied by Germany and it was performed in London in 1950 starring Dirk Bogarde. Under the title of ''Legend of Lovers'' it was performed on Broadway by Richard Burton

Another translation into Afrikaans is titled ''Legende van die Liefde''. This version was performed by [[Universiteitsteater Stellenbosch]] in May 1970 in the [[H.B. Thom Theatre]], directed by [[Ria Olivier]] and [[Fred le Roux]], starring, among others, [[Fred Nel]], [[Fred le Roux]], [[Juanita Swanepoel]], [[Ben Dehaeck]], [[Jan Engelen]], [[Marietha Channell|Marietha Snyman]] and [[Johann van Heerden]].
