Versöhnung und Ruhe, oder Menschenhass und Reue - Zweiter Theil ("Reconciliation and Peace, or Misanthropy and Repentance – Part Two") is a play in five acts by Friedrich Julius Heinrich Graf von Soden (1754-1831).

Published by Wallishausser, 1801 and by Blothe, 1801

Translations and adaptations

Translated into Dutch as Verzoening en Rust: Een Vervolg op Menschenhaat en Berouw ("Reconciliation and Peace: a sequel to Misanthropy and Repentance") by an anonyomous translator. The Dutch version published in Amsteldam by J. Smit and W. Holtrop, 1802.

Also known by the shorter title of Verzoening en Rust.

Performance history in South Africa

1823: Performed in Dutch simply as Verzoening en Rust on 17 May 1823 by Honi Soit qui Mal y Pense, led by C.E. Boniface; with De Belachelyke Zelfmoord (Martainville) as afterpiece.
