Biography
In the late 1960s she was in London, where she, Norman Coates and Antony Osler worked as singers in the pop/folk group Canticle. In the early seventies Coates and Osler returned to South Africa.
Sporting shocking pink hair in the 1980s, she became known as "The Pink Lady" while performing as singer, actress and voice artist.
After retiring from show-business she owned an organic herb nursery and a restaurant in Phalaborwa, and now lives on a farm in the mountains of Limpopo and is married to Fredl van der Merwe [1].
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She starred in Brickhill-Burke’s production of Neil Simon’s They're Playing Our Song together with Mike Huff at His Majesty's Theatre in 1980, Taubie Kushlick’s production From Taubie with Love together with Judy Page at the Market Theatre in 1981 and in Up 'n Atom in 1983.
Films include Jock of the Bushveld (1986), Mesh (1987) Rising Storm (1989) and Buried Alive (1989).
