Elsie Fogerty (1865-1945) [1]. Renowned British speech teacher and founder the Central School of Speech and Drama in 1906. She not only trained such notable actors as Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud and Peggy Ashcroft, but also indirectly influenced a whole range of South African practioners who had studied with her.
