Christopher (Chris) Goetsch (19**- ) is a South African-born mime artist and drama movement lecturer.

He was born in Stutterheim in the Eastern Cape and obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Theatre from Rhodes University where he began training in mime and dance. In 1981 he studied mime and dance at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance [1] in New York City. In 1982 he entered the International School of Marcel Marceau [2] in Paris, where he studied mime, ballet, jazz, fencing and acrobatics. He returned to South Africa to tour the country with Mime Moments, his one-man mime show, in the mid-eighties, after which he went to the USA where he completed an MA-degree in Mime Criticism at the University of Michigan and also worked as a principal member of the Theatre Milchenye mime theatre company based in New York City.

In 198* appointed as lecturer in movement at the University of Stellenbosch Department of Drama. Took study leave to study and work with Marcel Marceau in 1988. This was initally extended on a temporary basis, until he finally resigned to work in France and America on a permanent basis.

He later became head of The International Bilingual School Terra Nova [3] in Küsnacht, Switzerland.
