Friday's Bread on Monday is a play devised by the Serpent Players.

The original text

A collage of serious sketches on life in New Brighton Township (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) created in 1967 by the Serpent Players. Although it deals with deprivation it is not a cry for sympathy. It is built mainly on mime.

Performance history in South Africa

1970: Presented on tour by the Serpent Players in a double bill with The Cure, directed by John Kani, 1970.
