Translated into English by Nicholas Bethell, adapted by Tom Stoppard. Performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company directed by Trevor Nunn in 1966.

Performance history in South Africa

1970: First South African performance at the Hofmeyr Theatre, 10 October 1970. Presented by CAPAB Drama under the direction of Mavis Taylor starring Wilson Dunster (Arthur), Nerina Ferreira (Eleonora), Alec Bell (Stomil), John Mitchell (Eddie), Yvonne Bryceland (Eugenia), Arthur Hall (Eugene), Marion Achber (Ala). Designed by Raimond Schoop.

1967: According to announcement of forthcoming productions in Speelgoed van Glas theatre programme, the play was to have been presented by SATS in 1967.

1986: Tom Stoppard's adaptation of Tango from the play by Slawomir Mrozek, directed by Karoly Pinter, presented by NAPAC in Loft Theatre from 7 May 1986.
