Sizwe Msutu (19**-). Actor (isiXhosa, English, Afrikaans).

Training

He is a graduate of the New Africa Theatre Project.

Career

He was a member of the CAPAB Drama Company in 1994.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He acted in The Mother for the New Africa Theatre Project, directed by Mavis Taylor. He acted in 'n Skewe Sirkel, Oudisie!, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Heliotrope Bouquet (1994).

Other roles were in productions of The Merry Wives of Windsor (NAF 1991), Die Tou (1992), The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Maynardville 1993), 'Tis Pity She's a Whore (CAPAB 1994), Kinkels innie Kabel (CAPAB 1995), Saturday Night at the Palace (2004), The Tent (2009), Vatmaar (2002-2003), The Fire Raisers (2004), Madiba Magic (2003), Jocasta Rising (2004), ISystem, A Midsummer Night's Dream (2012), Nothing but the Truth (2016).

He had a role in the adaptetaion for radio of Die Koggelaar (1997).

On television he is best known for his role as Detective-Inspector Hlomla Mavuso in the SABC1 drama series Interrogation Room, from 2007-2008. He also played the role of Captain Nene in three seasons of the e.tv soccer drama Shooting Stars and played Patrick on both seasons of the SABC1 drama series Montana. Other television series he has acted in include Khululeka, two different characters in two different seasons of Stokvel, Madam & Eve, Going Up Again, Divers Down, Intersexions, Traffic! and Isikizi.
