WOODBURN, Donald (1972 - ), South African actor and academic.

Biography

Born and schooled in KwaZulu Natal. Moved to Johannesburg to study acting at university in 1990. After graduating, worked as an actor in Johannesburg in 1994 and 1995, and then travelled abroad in 1996 to study in the voice field at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney, Australia. Returned to South Africa in 1997 and worked as a freelancer in both broadcasting (South African Broadcasting Corporation, etv, mtv Base) and with tertiary education institutions (AFDA, NEMISA, Movietech). Also worked in theatre and the corportate sector. Took up a lecturing post in Perth, Australia, in April 2010 as Lecturer in Acting (Voice) at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).

BA, Dramatic Arts (Honours), Television Production & Acting Major, University of the Witwatersrand (1990–1993).

Graduate Diploma of Dramatic Art (Voice Studies), National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia (1996).

Career
