Deon Lotz

Deon Lotz (Born 1964) Actor (Afrikaans and English) on stage, screen and radio.

Biography

Deon grew up in Cape Town, where he still lives with his wife, Tilla, and their two children.

Training

He studied under Babs Laker at the ADK.

Career

He worked as hotelier before he became a professional actor.

Deon has appeared on stage in productions suche as Kringe in 'n Bos (2004), Faan se Trein and Die Ander Marta (2005), Festen and Die Keiser (2007), Wrestlers (2008), Die Ryk Weduwee and Die Proponentjie (2010), Die Onbeholpe Djin (2011), Liefde, Anna (2012), Buitepos (2012), Die Seemeeu (2014), Hie' Sit die Manne (2015), Moeder Moed (Woordfees 2016), Net ‘n Chilliburger en Chips Asseblief! (2016-2017), Die Nag van Legio (2017).

Films include:

Roepman (2011), Verraaiers (2012), Musiek vir die Agtergrond (2013), Dominie Tienie (2018), Skoonheid, and Sleeper's Wake.

Awards, etc

He was nominated for a Fleur du Cap as Best Actor for his role as John Groenewald in Wrestlers, 2009 and for a Fiesta for his role in Agterplaas (2012).

He won a SAFTA for his role in the television drama When We Were Black (2016).
